Going through a struggle is a test of your endurance.  You find yourself asking, God, when is this going to be over?   It feels like a heavy weight you’re constantly carrying around with you.  However, like consistently lifting heavy physical weights makes you stronger, you get stronger enduring the heavy mental and spiritual ones.

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul explains how he prayed, asking God to take away his hardships.  He says, Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.  Each time he said, “My grace is all you need.  My power works best in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:8,9 NLT).  Paul goes on to say, in verse 10 (AMP), So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].   Your strength is found in your trust in God and in your dependency on His Word.  His Word says, I got you.  So often, we try to get through things on our own rather than giving it to God and letting Him take care of it.  We are not strong enough to endure on our own, but He is willing and able to carry us through it.  In other words, when you are weak, He is strong.

The Word of God also says, And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose (Romans 8:28 AMP).  You will come out of this victoriously.  Eventually, you will get to a point where the struggle is no longer a burden for you because you’re stronger.  You’re strong enough to go to the next level in your life, which will likely come with its own share of struggles.  However, because you’ve built up strength at the previous level, you are capable of doing the same at this one.

Whenever you’re going through something, think about coming out on the other side—you’re going to be so much stronger than you were when you first went in.  You’re going to be able to withstand more than you could before you went through it.  It will be worth it, and you will overcome.
